-----------------------------
The weekend was a mix of work and play.

Saturday I got up and did 11 COLD miles. I got caught in a 5k and almost killed by 2 people walking with their twin strollers who wouldn't even THINK about moving for me. They obviously have no idea how hard it is to come to a dead stop on the 10th mile?!?!? I was already annoyed from having to stop to pee twice (maybe because of the cold???) and I may or may not have yelled some obscenities their way. I had my headphones on so I was unable to hear their response. bummer! :)

Saturday night was my first ever tailgate party! We went to see our NASL league soccer team play in the championship. It was cold and we lost but the food was awesome! I had a blast preparing for it - I made Elk chili (sorry vegan friends!!), cornbread and a very sinful buffalo chicken dip.

This was one of those situations where I could have kept eating all night but my small stomach just won't allow it. It's weird and it's a bit of a challenge sometimes but I just stopped and enjoyed the company and the atmosphere.

Sunday was no workout day so I enjoyed some mimosas and had a delish brunch with friends who were in town for the game. I had work to do but luckily in my line of work, it can help the creativity flow a bit :)

Suddenly it was Monday again! I started out feeling slow and sluggish this morning but then ended up with a PR! Funny how that works sometimes. After the first mile I was flying!

I'm feeling really ready for this race coming up! Can't wait!

Have a happy, healthy week everyone!

  4. You are definitely ready for your race! My biggest gripe about racing is the people who just come to a dead stop to walk! I don't mind people who run/walk, I just wish they'd pull all the way over to the right or left before they start walking.

  5. I bet your scale has just thrown in the towel, thinking "I just can't beat this girl." Way to go!

  7. Congrats on the weight loss! Oh man, I HATE it when people get in my way when I'm running! YOU RUINED MY GROOVE! Sometimes I hate the way people with strollers think they're entitled to dominate the pavement like it's their right.

Congrats on your running record! Please visit my blog if you have a chance =) http://hippotohot.blogspot.com
