How to lose your mind in 5 days

It's easy! All you have to do is:
run a 10k
eat whatever you want for the few days that follow
gain 7 pounds

That's what the scale said this morning. I honestly can't even believe it. All of my efforts for the month of June gone in a few short days. I'm totally devastated.

I feel like I'm running out of options. I've discussed this with my doctor and she's as perplexed as I am.

For now, I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and stay off the scale a while. Oh and quit thinking about it because it makes me cry!

  1. OH no!!! I'm so sorry! Could it be your body is rebelling a little from the stress and holding some water as well?? No matter what, keep moving down the right path and it will all come off!!
Don't cry! It's going to be ok!

  2. That's so frustrating!

I know how it feels. I can go off plan for 2 days and put on 7lbs. Easter weekend I gained like 9 lbs and I wasn't even eating that crazy. It's so unbelievably annoying.
Perhaps after a few days on track, the scale will move back down? Taking a break from the scale might be a good idea as well.

  3. Will you continue losing weight? I'm SuRe!!!!! It totally sucks you gained but look at how much you've accomplished. I'm not trying to make it about me but I cannot walk up the two flights of stairs I have without losing my breath and my legs feeling like lead. You are doing awesome. Don't forget that!

  4. Oh Tina - That really sucks. You mentioned yesterday that you were eating and drinking and whooping it up after the race last week. I know weight is weight, but I also know that a lot of that 7 pounds is fluid that will leave once you back off increased carb intake and drinking tons of water to flush it all out. It'll take a few day days.

I know exactly how frustrating this is as I've been through it a thousand times. You're going to do this no matter what - or how long, it takes. And don't forget, woman...you're a runner now!

  6. Honestly I think it is just water weight. If you are eating food that you are not use to, which could have alot of sodium. It happened to me a couple months ago and I thought about it logically (after I kick and screamed lol) and that would mean you I would have eaten 24500 calories extra which isn't possible.. You will have a loss next week for sure :) and you are amazing to run a 10K

  7. I doubt it 7 "real" pounds. It's those BS ones that come to make us crazy. I'm positive. I'm home Saturday. Need to see you soon!
