Binge and Purge

The Binge:
As per usual with me, Thanksgiving was just just one day, it was more like 7. I ate and drank A LOT. I also didn't do a lot of exercise (though I did make it to a 75 minute Bikram class).

The Purge:
I've been letting my clean eating slide little by little which is why I haven't been losing weight with all the exercise I'm doing. Over the years I've learned that the only time I lose is when I'm tracking and following a plan so that's exactly what I'm doing from now until the end of the year.

To set myself up for success I've gotten rid of everything in the house that has any white flour or sugar. Even the Fiber One bars. I even cleaned my closet and organized all my workout gear. I don't normally work out on Mondays got up this morning and walked my 3 mile route. I had no motivation to run but at least I got a good start on the week.

I hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving. Here's to a great week ahead!

  1. I hear you, Tina. TG was rough at my end too. Good for you for setting yourself up for success by cleaning out all the crap - not that you eat crap...you know what I mean! Those Fiber One bars are like CRACK! Good luck, and way to go walking this morning on a non-exercise day.

  3. I'm discovering the holidays will probably be the bain of my year! I'm with you--temptation abounds right now.

But you're on the right track! You've identified the problem behaviors and are doing a 180 turn to change them. Hang in there! You're not alone!

  4. I'm the same way, I can't seem to do it unless I have charts, graphs, grids, and numbers to track.

Good luck staying back on track, though I know you don't need it. You'll do just fine.

  5. That's funny, yesterday I started cleaning out my closet too! Wonder if it's the time of year...we start bringing in extras (like Christmas gifts) so feel the need to clear stuff out.

Good going with the 3 mile walk this morning! I think the best exercise is when you didn't want to do it in the first place, but went ahead and did...that really counts, in my book. :)

  6. Way to go!!! You have so ordered a trip to the gym this evening for me (even in this dismal yucky weather!). Way to go on the purge, too...I know that's what I need to do, too...just haven't forced myself there, yet...Keep up the great work!!!

  8. I admire your drive to really get up and run. These holidays can make us all feel very lazy and make us turn our backs on our diet solution. Yet this is wrong. We must maintain the same amount of control even during the holidays.
