ow ow ow ow ow

That is the noise I make walking today after rediscovering squats yesterday.

I'm breaking up with the Biggest Loser. That show last night was so awful I turned it off and only watched the weigh in. I'm not going to go on about it but it is SO not helpful. Have an injury? Here eat this Yoplait Yogurt. Need a quick lunch? Use a Ziplock bag (never mind what's in it). There was absolutely no focus on exercise or nutrition or anything. Just a bunch of swearing, bullying, whining, crying and bitching. It was barely even about weight loss at the weigh in!

I was having some anxiety issues last night and that didn't help at all! My anxiety attacks come at random and not very often so I took a xanax before bed and am just now coming back to life. I got up this morning, got on the elliptical, realized my ipod wasn't working and my legs were so sore that I couldn't even get it started. Don't worry though, I haven't given up on todays workout. I googled how to fix my ipod, left my workout clothes on and am going for another big walk at lunch. It's much cooler than it was last week when I did that so hopefully I won't feel as much like I'm going to die this time.

I feel like Peter Griffin this morning as I'm in a "you know what really grinds my gears" mood so I'm going to stop now ;) Have a great day everyone!!

  1. I too have had that "rediscovering squats" pain. Not fun, but think of all the muscle you're building!

PS LOVE the blue hair pic. I never had the courage to do anything like that!

  3. Cant even imagine doing squats. I'll send you some good vibes too. Well, I better not, because I am feeling pissy and I dont want to mess you up. HOpe you get a good walk in.
BTW, I just saw the last hour of TBL last night and I didnt enjoy it.

  4. I think squats are something I won't likely be doing much again due to a small amount of arthritis in the left knee, but I've got some other exercises that bring those thighs to tears!

Totally agree about the show, which I think this season is going to become the Biggest Loser on TV. I came in towards the end and everyone was crying. Remote alert!

Appreciate you mentioning anxiety issues. I get them occasionally also, seemingly out of the blue, and they can knock me off my square. Enjoy the cooler walk at lunch.

  5. I'm only able to do "mini" squats, but I can certainly understand the pain.

I DVR'd the Biggest Loser, but am now tempted to erase it and just forget this season. The first show just about did me in.

Hope you enjoy your walk. I'm planning a short "saunter" today, too.

  6. Well now you've discovered why the only reason why I'll watch that show taped is so I can fast forward through that crap. Every once in a while (like last night) my Sensei at Thai Boxing helps me to rediscover squats... I took 2 Aleve before I went to bed - ha!

  7. Oh yeah, there is nothing like squat legs pain. Going to the bathroom? Fun times!

But hey - you earned those sore muscles and I'm proud of you!

  8. I agree. I think that the show started out as a feel good and it has moved to something completely different.

    Thanks for the post!

  10. I think I will still watch BL...but...yes..the drama this week was WAY over the top. And the product placement was insulting. I would imagine that the trainers hate the product placement crap as much as we do..but are required to do it. And....ick....the artifically sweetened yogurt with red dye #5 in it. Bleeeaah.
