Time to focus

No weight loss to report this week. No gain either which is a miracle!

Last nights Biggest Loser was very inspiring. I almost turned it off since they started with the crying in the first minute but I hung in there. It made me realize how much I'm NOT doing right now. I have been using stress as an excuse to eat and do whatever I want when I should be using it as motivation to do those things even more.

I have a hard time changing my behavior mid-week. I'm a "start on Monday" person in the worst way but this morning I re-committed to my goals starting with breakfast. I stopped eating breakfast when I had a nervous stomach waiting to hear about that job and that's been dangerous as my appetite has come back. If I don't eat breakfast, I'm starving by lunch and will eat anything that comes from a drive-thru and can be quickly shoved in my face. I have been leaving my healthy lunch to sit in the fridge and that's not acceptable. It's a waste of my money, time and calories!

I've been doing a little yoga and feeling fine. Fall is coming and I want to run outside so I'm going to start the couch to 5k over again. I will start on that next week and finish out my week of yoga which has really worked for my back and my attitude!

Hope everyone is having a great week and thanks as always for your support. This blog is about to become more about weight loss again and less bitching about my life! :)

  2. Hey! I'm a start-on-Monday kind of girl, too. And a start-on-a-new-month and new year person as well. I totally know what you mean. And because of that, I also tend to blow the rest of a day gone bad. Because...I'll start again tomorrow.

I started thinking this morning about the fact that eating incorrectly due to stress won't actually eliminate my stress, but rather add to it.

    Thanks for the post.

Oh. I just started my blog and added your blog to my blog roll. I hope that's okay. I enjoy what you have to write. Feel free to check out my blog.

(Or you can wait until Monday. :) )

  3. I think it's so important to look at every day as a new opportunity, both from a weight perspective and in life.

I hope your week finishes off on a positive note!

  4. Sweetie there are a ton of us "start on Monday" people out there (did you read Prior Fat Girl today?). Seriously, you that episode got me too. We can do it together supporting one another. Even Mr. Sh*t thinks we're ready.

  5. There must be something in the air today!! Lots of us are re-focusing. We can make it work, I just know we can. I tend to be a "wait 'til Monday" type of person myself, but I was fearful that if I actually waited, I'd lose focus again. I have the attention span of a gnat. :)

  6. The above poster is right -- every day IS a new opportunity!
Just take a deep breath... and begin again.
    You can do it!

  7. No loss but no gain means you practiced maintenance...which is something you'll need one of these days!

Nice on the mid-week reset - I used to be a Monday person, too, but I'm trying to live more "in the now" - some days it's easier than others.

  8. I'm totally a start on Monday person. Isn't that funny how we get...like if we screwed it up on Monday...forget the rest of the week. Good job refocusing...because if you think about it every day is a new day...an new day to try again.

  10. You're so smart for catching yourself before you wound up in a total nose-dive, Tina. Bad habits are SO much easier to develop than good ones. And way to go about starting today instead of Monday. You'll get there.
