547,500

The number above represents my new plan. What's a new year without a new plan right?

Actually I've been at it for the last 2 weeks. I'm proud of myself for all the days I made it to the gym over the holidays. I was so sore on Christmas Eve I was in tears by bedtime but I've already made some progress endurance wise. Damn scale hasn't moved at all but like I always say, there has to be diet and exercise involved for me to do anything other than maintain.

I haven't been going nuts with the eating (mostly) but not keeping track and drinking way to much champagne has me weighing in at 252.8 today. We painted our bedroom this past week and I felt every single pound of myself weighing me down. The next day I tried to do Target, Ross, Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Publix and came home having to ice down my knee. I've never had these aches and pains before. As my mom was asking me what happened to my knee (which she stills swears happened from being on a ladder for 2 days) I said to her that I'm just too fat to go to 5 stores.

Now, about the plan. The goal is to eat and track 1500 calories per day for all of 2010 which equals 547,500 calories. I'm interested to see exactly how close I can get to that exact number. I've been inspired (again) by Sean who has been at this for way more than a year now. He says if he can do it anybody can. I'm finally accepting that challenge.

Sure there are going to be ups and downs and yes, it's a lofty goal but I'm going to focus on what next year at this time could be like. I'm not putting a weight loss number down because I'm interested to see just what happens naturally from tracking my food every single day and exercising 6 days a week. Could it be over 100 pounds? How close can I get to the 547,500 calories?

See you all tomorrow! There will be pictures. It will not be pretty.

  2. Really interesting concept! I cannot wait to see you do this...and I have no doubt that you WILL do it and we will see an entirely different Tina by the end of the year!

I feel your pain with the exercise - in fact, I still have some really sore days, but it does get better. I'm proud of you for working out through the holidays! Happy New Year!

  3. Good job on keeping your workouts going. I'm with you on the too much champagne and wine. Funny how just that can make the calories quickly escalate from 1500 to 2000. Can't wait to see the pics - I don't care what you say, you ARE pretty.

  4. Love that! What kind of work out are you doing? I'm still planning mine. I want to do some interval training, but am not sure what to do as an out of shape gal!

  5. This is a great plan. And I don't think it's a lofty goal at all. I think it's very doable and Sean proves that to us every day. It's just up to us to actually DO IT!! lol He's been doing it so long he doesn't even think about it now. I want to get to that point and I'm sure you do too. We'll both make this a great year!! :)

  6. I am in trouble. I just stepped on the scale after not being able to fit in my pj's.......200 lbs. I am in love for the first time and am about to blow it. He is extremely supportive and always compliments me. ...but.....Every time a beautiful thin woman appears on tv I totally fall apart....and let's face it that happens every 30 seconds. My boyfriend never comments about the women on tv......its me totally with no self confidence. I need to get myself together.....I am going to ruin everything. I ended up here after my cry in the bathroom. I know what I have to do......I need help remaining focused. I need help.

  7. I really like this idea! (then again I am an accounting/math person!) I think it gives you flexibility so that if you have say, 2,000 calories for a few days, if you go down to say 1,400 for a few, it will balance out. It's a longer term picture than 1,500/day and if you have 1,800 then the "oops I blew it" mentality sets in.

PS I moved my blog to wordpress, the new address is http://notjustcelery.wordpress.com
